The Tavern (general discussion)
I'm involved with a number of projects based on Panama. Panama's laws of incorporation were attractive to many of crypto's pioneers and I didn't realize that it could be viewed as a red flag.
Can you elaborate on why that concerns you?

I just got an advice long time ago to be aware of coins that are Panama based. I guess what concerns me is that it is a great tax hiding place, and maybe devs think more about money and profit than the actual coin. just my thoughts. But I agree with you. of cause it is very attractive place to have a company economy wise.

It only lists Panama because of the WhoIsGuard protection on the registrant, so that's not the actual location or identity of the shekel dev/team. I have a couple shekel nodes.

Cardano is going to implement Ouroboros. They call it a "provably secure Proof of Stake" algorithm.
What I've noticed with a lot of developers is that they think they can implement regular staking in theory, but then when they get into practice, they realize they need dedicated nodes for some particular purpose. That, or they realize that PoS only rewards the wealthy unless you significantly deviate from the standard implementation. Cardano has been moving more toward actual development rather than purely academic research, so I wouldn't rule out some sort of "node" just yet.

@cryptocartel As someone who is looking into getting started with masternodes, about how much are you making with a Shekel node? I'm new to this whole idea so am curious how much I could make with nodes and whether it's still worth it.
@bolund you can see on https://masternodes.online/ what each node is making. For example, this is what a shekel masternode earns with today's price for a JEW: https://masternodes.online/currencies/JEW/

@bolund If I may, I started doing MN pretty recently, if you look into all the differents tutorial, you will manage to make most of them, I suggest to start with small one in case of f*** up you’ll feel better. But it is not that impossible to make a MN with a VPS, it will take for sure a lot of your time !
ZEN just announced a pump in rewards for ZEN secure nodes (from 3.5% of block rewards to 10%), and announced supernodes as well (500 ZEN). Pretty awesome news for ZEN secure nodes holders

@kelnel Do you have any link where ROI and other details are available? Can't find it on main MNO or others.
@setfub still quite under the radar, but it's out there somewhere in this link and the video: https://blog.zencash.com/zencash-biweekly-summarized-april-4rd-2018/

@kelnel Nice info on ZenCash node. Thank you. I have enough for a secure node but hadn't bothered setting one up forever now since the payout is so low. I'll be getting mine set up ASAP now. And man wish I could afford a supernode, lol.
BWK is going full POS in response to an ASIC becoming available for the NIST5 algorithm
I think generally this type of move is going to happen more and more. There is going to be a lot of mad miners, but I personally think that POS is a more democratic tool than POW simply because the technical barrier of entry is so low. So I'm kind of happy of this overall trend if it keeps on going and I think it is a positive thing for the future of crypto.

How to run a SSH Session vie Putty on Windows?!
i am on point 2b but i dont know what to enter in putty ip adress to run ssh?
Hey! Thx for coming here
So to ssh into your VPS using putty, it's pretty easy. Normally, you have a VPS with a unique IP address, a username and a password.
1- Open Putty
2- Under Host Name (or IP address), enter your VPS IP adress and click Open
3- It will open a black window saying " login as:" Enter your username (most likely "root")
4- It will ask for your password. Type your password (note: you will not see the password, dont worry, this is normal).
That's it, you are in

@kelnel thank you very much it worked.
now i getting this
root@Apollo-1:~# ssh-add -K id_rsa_apollo-1
Could not open a connection to your authentication agent.
Ha! This is getting a little complicated for me. When did you get that error? Did you do step 2c?
Anyways, I think the best would be for you to join Appolo's discord and ask for support there. They will be much more able to help you than me.
Im in thailand. Its super late here so im off for today, back after a night of sleep. See you and gl
